B C Eagles vs East Orange Express
Battle tested and always ready the BC Eagles give East Orange a real IS 8 welcome…
next was…
Team Lucky vs Best Kept Secret
An empty bench didn’t deter Best Kept Secret from revealing a beating to a very Team unLucky- 0-2 in the pool does not bode well on the first and only day for them…
and finally…
a rock ‘em, sock ‘em (semi) legit AA High School game only one thing- Cordozo sent the JV- lol.
Web note- Problems on the court seem to culminate with problems off the court for Steve Wittingham. We here are sending support for him and his family to work it out for what is best for you all, good luck…

First up…
looking small, frail and lost Holy Cross managed to get it together in the end…
then…
- this one was rough and tumble with Wings pulling away at the end
Principal Cox was a little upset- no defense!!
and the drama for last…
Alway loud and boisterous, the Positive Direction folks engender a “special affection” if you know what I mean and tonight was no exception-
Shout out to Coach Naclerio
and later….
and then Sunday at IS 8…
Sunday, September 20th, 2009It starts with a late start -
Spongetech Elite vs Sports University
then…
R.A.I.D.E.R.S. vs CJEOTO - Raiders???(we will find out!)
but CJEOTO = Central Jersy Each One Teach One.
Led by Coach Ian Turnbull , a NCAA licensed and approved coach, they look to make noise.
next up…
Spongetech Elite vs Brooklyn Ballers
The Broklyn Ballers always tough, this was a goodie. (as we used to say)
The second game of the day for CJEOTO, but thats the way it is for the out of town teams. This time its a tough New Heights.
WEB Note to Coach Joe Leone, New Heights- I asked for your players names to be included in my database so it might help their exposure (and my credibility) and was brushed off and forgotten. Hmmmm… What was the message?
and shout outs to DAVE holding the table down
WEB note-(a running clock does not fly!!!)
then…
The Panthers ran into all they could handle with the Westchester boys…
Now this was a real treat! I asked to come into the Panther halftime huddle and was granted access!! You will see what its like to be a player in high school being coached by a current NBA player, Rafer Alston, from your hometown who has just played in the finals!!! It can’t get much better, but we will see…
The talk will be edited into the game, at the half, of course!
next…
looking to return to Glenns Falls the Knights are back…
Shout outs to Andre Ambrose, an good guy and a friend.
But wait lets talk about the game, yo!
United Brooklyn was 40+ minutes late!!! So we thought – 2 or 3 quarters down 8 or 16 points? NO!!! The game started even!!!!!! But not really. United Brooklyn was game but no match for the Panthers. within 6-7 minutes they had a 16 point lead and then it got ugly. Say what you will the Brooklyn team was playing hard and talking trash as the Panthers went with experimental configurations- all guards, all forwards as they cruised to what will be another playoff appearance and possible repeat.
The Panthers vs United Brooklyn
See ya next week !!!
the opening weekend…
Saturday, September 19th, 2009was full of the usual suspects reeking havoc on unsuspecting victims and other surprises. (shout outs to Mr. Pearson officiating the contest in a most professional manner, as always)
Hakeem holding it down as only he can- time, score and commentary (get well, brother)
The Rangers vs St Edmunds – Forrest Hills comes with Nate Blue in the mix and in gear… as St Edmunds looks on
then… wait a minute!!!
ain’t that Billy Turnage trying to hide from the camera!!?!
then…
a rough and tumble matchup with top flight officials, Mr Parker, for instance, for the task
next up was…
then…
Bunky Reid vs Westchester Hawks
and…
Positive Direction was emphasized by the addition of Coach Robert Holman on the bench. For those who don’t know Coach Holman has a National Junior College Championship with Hostos Community College. Some people don’t know how lucky they are!!! And he isn’t the head man!!?! Go figure!?
Positve Direction Wildcats vs Panthers - if you know the Panthers, you know what they do- they did it despite Coach Holman but he’ll be back and if they listen they’ll be better.
then came…
Playaz Seniors vs Lehigh Valley
a slight smacking but what else is new… at IS 8!
and lastly the Panther brain trust with Rafer Alton on the bench deliver a “smacking”
and the weekend begins…
Friday, September 18th, 2009with JR Rodriguez one of the best, no doubt… and shout out to my man high flying Hart G!!!
and they came from Long Island…
and tomorrow… a whole days worth!!!
IS 8 is on!!!
Thursday, September 17th, 2009And so it starts again. The best of the tri state area come together to sort out some preseason flaws. 69 (did he say 69!!?!) yes 69 teams!!! 14 pools, top two teams from each pool make the playoffs.
Lets get started-
Boys and Girls vs Bballers - They are both chompin at the bit and at midseason form already. Interesting ending…
next up…
Mt Vernon vs New Heights sophs – Now I like whast they do at New Heights but sophs? I’m not sure, lol
